AFP - Former Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh, fired by German club VfL Bochum, will be given a chance to return to his country's team, according to coach Christian Chukwu.

"I'm disappointed by Oliseh's conduct but we will not abandon him," Chukwu said Tuesday. "Before his problem he was in brilliant form and as such we will reconsider him for the team."

Oliseh has stayed away from the national team since the African Nations Cup in Mali two years ago after a widely-publicised fallout with the soccer authorities and he has insisted his international future is over.

The 29-year-old midfielder was released by Bundesliga side Bochum recently after assaulting teammate Valid Hashemian following a disagreement.

His club career is in great doubt now as he is expected to head back to Borussia Dortmund, where he was surplus to requirements and so was sent on loan to Bochum.
