- The Asian player of the year 2003, Mehdi Mahdavikia, Monday said he has
enough time to mull over his future team.
The popular Iranian right winger of Hamburg SV added he restarted training
Sunday and is awaiting for his manager to hold negotiations with the
German club's officials on a new contract.
Mahdavikia has been linked to a possible trade to Italy's serie a squad as
Roma, according to a German BI weekly sports magazine.
The ex-Pirouzi player's Iranian manager Reza Fazeli refused to comment on
the latest report, saying a definite announcement on his client's future
club will be made by the end of January.
He indicated that Hamburg might still make an improved offer to Mahdavikia.
However, Hamburg team manager Dietmar Beiersdorfer ruled out a higher
offer for Mahdavikia and reiterated his club's January 31 deadline for the
striker to accept the final offer.
