Iran in Category A for Asian Cup


IRNA - A total of 42 countries, including automatic qualifiers--hosts China and defending champions Japan-- have confirmed their participation in the 2004 Asian Cup football tournament. The draw for the tournament is scheduled in Beijing on Saturday, according to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) statement on Wednesday.

Dadashzadeh dealing with bad luck

PLDC - In the postponed 5th week match between Esteghlal Tehran and Malavan Anzali, Esteghlal defeated their guests with the score of 3-0. The first half which ended on a 0-0 note was very active with numerous attacks and counters on both sides. The teams were evenly matched in this half and despite a number of close misses no goals were scored. The first half ended after 3 minutes of injury time.
