Tasnim - Iranian national football team coach Carlos Queiroz said that Nigeria is one the best teams in the world but they are going to keep their heads up at the end of the match against the African powerhouse team.

Iran has been pitted in Group F of the 2014 FIFA World Cup against Nigeria, Argentina and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Carlos Queiroz’s men will open their World Cup campaign against Nigeria at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba on June 16.

“In the past three years, we have had many problems in terms of training camps and friendly matches but the Iranian players made history and qualified for the World Cup. They deserve to be here,” Carlos Queiroz said.

“We don’t regret and don’t make excuse. All we want to do is walk off the field proud of the way we played against Nigeria. My only concern is to keep our heads up at the end of the match,” the Portuguese added.
