TEHRANTIMES - Malavan missed the chance to go to the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table as it lost to Paykan 1-0 here at the Takhti Stadium on Saturday.

Josiesley Ferreira scored the only goal of the match in the 76th minute.

Malvan could go to the top of the table with a draw over Paykan.

Elsewhere, Rah Ahan beat Sanat Naft of Abadan 2-1 in its home game. Bahador Abdi gave a lead to Rah Ahan after 23rd minutes into the match. Ruhollah Arab equalized the match in the 68th minute but two minutes later Farzad Ashoobi scored for Rah Ahan.  

Ali Daei’s team moved six spots up in the table.

Mes edged Sepasi 1-0 in its home game. Mes striker Reza Enayati found the back of the net in the 34th minute. Sepasi also could move to the top with a victory.  

Aluminum defeated rock bottom Gahar 1-0. Hadi Dehghani scored for the visiting team in the 23rd minute.

On Sunday, Damash will host Naft, Saipa face Saba, titleholder Sepahan play Esteghlal and Foolad face Traktor Sazi.

Persepolis will play Zob Ahan on Monday.

Esteghlal remains top of the table with 25 points and one game in hand, followed by Malavan and Traktor Sazi.
