PLDC - A new stadium will soon be built for Esteghlal of Tehran beside Eram Park. The club will be a complex of cultural, artistic and sports activities. Ronald Koch, head coach of Esteghlal commented on the events surrounding the opening ceremony of the stadium in about ten days, “In the first phase of its construction the pool, sauna, administrative and club management building will be built within the next ten months along with suitable, internationally acceptable grass pitches. The grass pitch of the complex will be ready in less than four month’s time.”

“The second phase will begin with the construction of the badminton court, restaurant, dormitories, large supermarket, body building gym and spectator stands. The final stage of the complex will consist of the building of open-air and indoor cinemas and a professional automobile racing track.”

Koch also requested that the officials pay more attention to the base teams in order to strengthen club football in Iran.
