MEF - Iran international forward Javad Kazemian was in sparkling form for his new club Al-Ahly of Dubai, opening the scores for them after only 8 minutes from a devastating free-kick, had a big hand in the Red’s third goal as Al-Ahly ran out 3-1 home victors over Al-Ittihad.

The Reds’ victory, their fifth win in 8 league matches, propelled them again at the top of the league table standings with 17 points out of maximum 24, leading defending champions Al-Ain by virtue of goal average

Al-Ain gave a solid performance away to outfits Al-Sha’ab, yet they waited till the final 11 minutes to finally secure the result, thanks to two successive goals from international midfielder Sbeit Khater 80 and Salem Jawhar 90.

In the remaining featured game counting for the 8th Week, mighty Al-Wahda needed two second-half strikes by international full-back Fahad Massoud 68 and Qatar international striker Mohamed Salem Al-Enazi 76, to finally dismiss visitors Al-Shabab for whom this was their first league outing under the helm of German manager Rainer Hollman.

Al-Wahda’s 5th league win in 8 matches shot them back to title contention in the United Arab Emirates, currently lying at the third spot in the table standings with 16 points, trailing both Al-Ahly and Al-Ain by one slender point.
