PLDC - Branco Ivancovic, head coach of the Iranian National Team, recently
commented on the media and press in Iran. Here are his opinions and view points, “I believe that the media and the press have up to now gone
their own way and there has always existed an opposition and resistance between the Football Federation and the media and press. Everyone though
must think about the mutual benefits involved and aim to advance
football in this country.”
“Unfortunately, personal gain has been the preference instead of National gain until now and this is the reason for the gap between the
Football Federation and the media and press. The problem of Iranian press is
that they are after scandals and side issues whereas the press in other countries is concerned first and foremost with the game itself.”
“The first priority of Iran is to give its football a proper structure and provide better conditions for its clubs. The future head of the
Football Federation must be fully informed of the importance of his work and instead of playing with words, he must consider the practical and
scientific aspects of football. I don’t approve of all foreign coaches in
Iran and use of them depends on each individual club as they know what is best for them.”
“I congratulate Rezazadeh on becoming the world champion in weightlifting and I feel proud of his success. I am glad that I had the
opportunity to meet such a great man in Busan. I was honored.”
