TEHRANTIMES - Persepolis football team was appointed Yahya Golmohammadi as its interim coach on Friday.

Portuguese coach Manuel Jose fell slightly short of expectation in the first-half of the season.

Golmohammadi, 41, who joined Persepolis as the first assistant in September, took charge of the Iranian popular team.

Persepolis board of directors will make the final decision on Monday.

“Until Monday Golmohammadi trains the team. Manuel Jose has not been fired and might stay,” Persepolis general manager Mohamad Ruyanian said.

Iranian media have reportedly predicted Golmohammadi will replace Jose in Persepolis.

Persepolis is 12th in Iran professional League (IPL) standing table with 21 points after 17 games.
