PLDC - Before the match between Sanat Naft and Esteghlal which was postponed to today, 30/10/2002, various Esteghlal players and officials commented on the game. Their comments have been recorded below.

Seyd Hadi Tababtabaei (Esteghlal goalkeeper), “We are all well and we are going to Abadan to get the three points. Sanat Naft was not professional last season and we do not know much about them. We do however know that Khuzestan has a strong football and their players are determined and technical. Esteghlal will present a good performance and we hope the fans can see a good match.”

Sohrab Bakhtiyarizadeh (Esteghlal defender), “Koch intends to use his reserve players in this match and I don’t know if I’ll be in the main formation of the team. If not, I’ll have a rest on the bench. Koch wants to give some rest to the players who went to Jordan and played against Al Faisali. Some may not even be taken to Abadan and I am no exception. I wish the boys luck.”

Nasrollah Abdollahi (Esteghlal Supervisor), “Pourheidari (ex-Esteghlal and present Sanat Naft coach) has complete understanding of Esteghlal, its tactics and each player. He will know how to arrange his team. He
knows of our weak points as he was our coach in the last season. Also the Sanat Naft fans are firmly behind their team and will cheer them on the whole 90 minutes. This will make our job tough against them.”
