IRNA - Following the second consecutive
loss of Esteqlal of Ahvaz in Iran Pro League, the head coach Jalal
Cheraghpour stepped down Sunday.
The manager offered his resignation to the officials of the team that is now getting ready for the third match.
Approving the report, the vice-president of Esteqlal of Ahvaz Cultural-Sports Club said Cheraghpour officially announced his
resignation that was welcomed by the club.
Kamran Ya'qoubi added: "The Technical Committee is discussing the recruitment of a new head coach for the squad as soon as possible."
The committee believes a local coach can do the job better, said Ya'qoubi, adding that a few persons are under study out of which one
will be picked up within the next two days.
In its first-leg third week match, Esteqlal meets Paykan of Tehran Thursday.
Esteqlal lost its first match against Foulad of Khuzestan 2-1 and it was also beaten by Barq of Shiraz 2-1 in the second clash.
