PLDC - The newspapers of the UAE have published articles claiming that Branco
Ivancovic, present head coach of the Iranian National Team, will soon be joining a club of the country. In an interview with UAE press, he has
apparently commented that despite the fact that his present contract with Iran is for two more months, he has no intention of continuing as
the head coach of the National Team.
Ivancovic has said, “After the ending of this contract, I need time for rest and decision making. I may join a UEA club. Nothing is clear about
my continuation with Iran. The absence of Ali Daei in the games against Korea and Japan were not good for the National Team. With great effort
though, we managed to become successful. Our tactics were also different from when Daie was with us.”
“Although Karimi is a great and capable player, in Busan we needed a goal scoring striker and Daie was the best choice.”
