SportalAsia- According to reports in Germany, Hannover 96, the champions-elect of the German Bundesliga second division, are looking to sign up Iranian captain Ali Daei for the forthcoming season.

The Hamburg Morning Post have revealed that Hannover are hoping to sign up the 32-year-old striker as they prepare for their first season back in the German top flight since 1989.

Daei has had a miserable season at Bundeliga side Hertha Berlin, spending much of the time on the bench. With the Iranian striker not appearing to be part of the team's future plans, he is already eyeing a move elsewhere at the end of the season.

While Daei is reportedly keen to join an English club, the interest by Hannover might influence him to remain in Germany. With just two matches remaining in the Bundesliga Two season, Hannover 96 have already sealed promotion back to the top flight and can clinch the division title by gaining just one point from their remaing games.

Previous reports indicate that Daei is also wanted by a number of clubs in Germany as well as Austrian side Rapid Vienna.
