Mehr News Agency – Iran’s Football Federation (IFF) at last re-signed the Croat Coach Branco Ivankovic here Wednesday. The IFF’s quest for a foreign manager to steer the seniors’ side came to an end as the Croat retook the job for a year.

Talking to Mehr, the country’s Physical Education Organization (PEO) President Mohsen Mehralizadeh said the federation had negotiated with other coaches during the recent months but the two sides did not reach an agreement.

“Branco has good knowledge of modern football,” said the PEO supremo adding “Furthermore, his two-year coaching in Iran has helped him know the players and their spirits very well.”

Mehralizadeh said the Croat coach was the choice of federation and would back him to lead Iran to better results in the future.
