IRNA - Late captain of Iran's soccer squad, Sirous Qayeqran, and his son Rastin were commemorated in their death anniversary here on Friday. 
During a ceremony attended by provincial and local officials, sportsmen, former national footballers including legend goalkeeper Ahmad-Reza Abedzadeh, and a number of people, Qayeqran was commemorated. 
Qayeqran and his sole son were killed in an accident in Rasht-Qazvin Road in April 1999. 
He played for Iran in 1988 and 1992 Asian Nations cup in Qatar and Hiroshima, Japan, respectively. 
Qayeqran came under spotlight in the Asian Games held in Seoul, South Korea, in 1986. 
In 1990, he scored the winner for Iran helping his side book a berth in the final of Asian games in Beijing, China.
