PLDC - The popular Tehrani clubs, Perspolis and Esteghlal have always been good candidates for getting into side issues, and considering their unsuccessful run in the Asian Club Championship, have lead both teams into going through transformations.
Abdollahi, one of Esteghlal’s managers, told reporters: “For the rest of the season, the role of the team managers will increase, Pourheydari will have more influence on the team’s technical aspects, and Koch and his German assistant will stay with the team at least ‘till the end of this season.”
He did not say anything about the possibility of Koch leaving the team this season, and in regards to the possible come back of Ghalenoe to Esteghlal as a coach, he said: “Ghalenoe has a contract with Esteghlal of Ahvaz ‘till the end of this season, and we have not offered him any position.”

He continued: “We have not had a decent field to practice on since the beginning of the new year, and we have either practiced in Davoudiy Hills or practiced in fields were the coaches have not been able to work the team the way they wished.” At the end, Abdollahi told reporters: “Despite not been able to practice on a decent field, our players are determined to play a good game and defeat Malavan in Anzali to gain hope in reaching the top of the table.”
