Tasnim - Amirhossein Peyrovani says he is very sorry due to failing to book a place in the AFC U-19 Championship final.

Iran lost to Saudi Arabia 6-5 at at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town, Bahrain.

The loss means the country’s wait for a first appearance in the final of the AFC U-19 Championship since 1977 will go on for at least another two years.

“We say congratulations to Saudi Arabia for getting to the final of this competition,” Peyrovani told the-afc in the post match news conference.

“I’m very sorry and I feel bad now that we couldn’t go to the final. So much happened in the game today. I think the penalty put us under pressure early in the game. We were without two of our main defenders, one was injured and the other one was suspended for this match, so the power of my defence wasn’t the same as before."

“Maybe we didn’t have good concentration in this game. I’m very happy because all of the spectators were satisfied by this game. There were 11 goals and it was perfect for the fans,” he concluded.
