GOAL - Eintracht Frankfurt have turned their
attention to Iranian national Mehdi Mahdavikia as they seek to strengthen
their squad.
"Mahdavikia is someone we are discussing," admitted Frankfurt trainer
Friedhelm Funkel.
The Iranian’s contract at Hamburg will expire at the end of June, so he is
available on a free-transfer. The only consideration for Frankfurt will be
the player’s wages.
Besides Mahdavikia, Frankfurt are also showing an interest in Werder
Breman’s Leon Andreasen.
The midfielder impressed during a loan spell at Mainz and Funkel considers
him "a very good player."
"We are looking at signing two new playersm" manager Heribert Bruchhagen
stated.
Japanese midfielder Junichi Inamoto, who has moved from Galatassary, is the
only new arrival so far.
Added Bruchhagen: "We will go into the new season with 23 or 24 players.”
